Dinner Menu

WHAT HAPPENS AT LUNCH TIME

School dinners are prepared on the premises, however children may bring packed lunches. We encourage all our Foundation Stage children to try school dinners.

Dinner money is collected in class every Monday morning. Each child should bring the correct amount of money, in a sealed envelope marked with their name and class. As we have limited facilities for accepting cash, cheques are preferred and should be made payable to Bury MBC. Alternatively, payments may be made online.

All monies should be sent to school in the same way, stating what the money is for and these cheques should be made payable to Chesham School.

Your child may qualify for free meals. To find out, please enquire at the Education Office, Athenaeum House, Market Street, Bury, BL9 0BN. From September 2014, all Key Stage One children are entitled to free school meals.

All children are given a labelled school water bottle, which they fill up at home and bring into school each day. They can then have a drink whenever they need one. Further water is available throughout the day from our drinking fountains.

In June 2008 we successfully achieved the Healthy School Standard. As part of this, we encourage all children to drink more water and eat more fruit. All our infant children receive a piece of fruit each day in school, KS2 children are allowed to bring a piece of fruit as a snack at break time or use our healthy tuck shop each day. We do not allow crisps or biscuits except as part of a packed lunch. Sweets are not suitable even as part of a packed lunch.

Menus are sent home each term and children choose what they would like for dinner each day by wearing the associated coloured wrist band.
